On March 25, at the 55th Anniversary of the Establishment of China-France Diplomatic Relations and during the state visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to France, the France-China Global Governance Forum (Séminaire Franco-Chinois Sur La Gouvernance Mondiale) was held in Paris, France.
Wang Yi, State Councilor and Foreign Minister of China together with Jean-Yves Le Drian, Foreign Minister of France attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech on strengthening global governance, tackling challenges, upholding multilateralism and promoting cooperation. About 200 people from the business circles and think tanks of China and France participated in the opening ceremony and the forum discussion.
This forum was co-hosted by the State Council Information Office of PRC and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of France. CASIC as one of the nine central enterprises recommended by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission was invited to attend the forum.
Entrusted by the Party Leading Group, Gong Bo, a member of the Party Leading Group and Deputy General Manager of CASIC together with a group of other people fully participated in the forum and its opening ceremony.
On the forum, guests delivering speeches and participating in discussion shared their thoughts and ideas on the four topics of “interconnection and development: shared opportunities and challenges”, “future development of multilateralism and global governance”, “challenges in digital governance: stepping into safer, more open and fairer digital world” and “tackling climate emergencies and destruction of biodiversity, global determination of 2020”.
Gong Bo, as the guest participating in the discussion on the theme of “tackling climate emergencies and destruction of biodiversity” also attended the introduction and preliminary meetings and did promotions and exchanged opinions concerning CASIC promoting intelligent manufacturing through innovation, CASIC’s efforts in reducing environment burden, improving efficiency and lowering energy consumption as well as further strengthening of cooperation between Chinese and French enterprises.
Speaking of the experience as a participant, Gong Bo said CASIC participated in this forum on invitation and made full preparation for telling the story of cooperation between the Chinese and French enterprises. At the opening ceremony, I listened to the speeches made by the two foreign ministers and participated in the discussion on the topic of global governance. This not only manifests the status of China on the international arena and the diplomatic demeanor of China as a great power, but also showcases CASIC and a bunch of other Chinese enterprises are constantly thriving and acting as backbones on the international arena.
After the forum is closed, Gong Bo along with other participants of CASIC will conduct a research on its affiliates in France and will make new advances in promoting win-win cooperation between the Chinese and French enterprises relying on the new outcomes of diplomacy between China and France.
