On September 19, the Third Academy of CASIC organized a meeting of acceptance on China's first large LEO satellite constellation surveying and operation control software system targeted at the field of commercial aerospace in Beijing. The software is developed by the "Joint Research Center for Satellite Technology and Application Innovation" jointly set up by the Third Academy and Tsinghua University. It focuses on the "Hongyun" and "Xingyun" Projects to cater for large LEO satellite constellations in the field of commercial aerospace. Currently, many innovative achievements have been yielded in this respect. Domestic well-known experts from Xi'an Satellite Monitor and Control Center, Beijing Aerospace Control Center, CETC-54, CASIC Space Engineering Development Co., Ltd., Leobit Technology Co., Ltd. and other relevant fields attended the meeting. In addition, Zhang Hongwen, Deputy General Manager of CASIC, and You Zheng, Vice President of Tsinghua University and Academician, also attended the meeting.

The satellite constellation surveying and operation control software is developed for the purpose of satellite constellation surveying and operation control management of the "Hongyun" and "Xingyun" Projects. It serves as the "nerve center" of the space-based ground scheduling management network. The communication transmission protocol based on Internet architecture is adopted for the system software, ensuring flexible satellite station and station-to-station communication modes and high adaptability, thus taking into account the requirements of commercial aerospace development while ensuring the surveying and operation control of the "Hongyun" and "Xingyun" Projects.

Experts at the meeting spoke highly of the satellite constellation surveying and operation control software system and put forward valuable opinions on follow-up development. In their opinion, the software is the first large LEO satellite constellation surveying and operation control software in China, has various new functions such as universal telemetry processing, constellation situation monitoring, constellation maintenance and Internet-based information gathering and distribution, and realizes integrated management of surveying and operation control.

Zhang Hongwen extended a warm welcome to the leaders and experts present at the meeting, introduced basic information about CASIC's "Five Clouds + One Train" commercial aerospace project, and praised the innovative mode of school-enterprise cooperation. According to Zhang, CASIC would like to exchange and cooperate with all units to make contributions to the development of commercial aerospace.

You Zheng affirmed the rich software platform functions of the large satellite constellation surveying and operation control software system developed by the center, highly praised the school-enterprise cooperation mode and believed that the mode would be a win-win mode conducive to boosting the industry and developing an ecosystem.

The satellite constellation surveying and operation control software system developed by the Joint Research Center is China's first large software system platform for ground surveying and operation control in the field of commercial aerospace, realizing integrated management of multi-satellite, multi-station and multi-center surveying and operation control. With a design management capacity of over 300 constellations, the system is one of the core capabilities of CASIC's Satellite Operation Center in satellite ground surveying and operation control management, a main carrier of surveying and operation control cloud services in CASIC's space-based network ground service platform, and the first important milestone of school-enterprise cooperation to jointly promote the development of commercial aerospace.

The successfully developed software platform not only indicates that the Third Academy is the first one in China that has the ability to realize integrated surveying and operation control of large LEO satellite constellations, and will also provide technical support for other large satellite constellations such as "Hongyun" and "Xingyun", thus enabling the Third Academy to continuously make new advances in the field of commercial aerospace technology.
