On September 24, CASIC organized a visit to a large achievement exhibition for celebration the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
Taking time as the main line, the exhibition consists of 5 major parts: Introduction, Standing Erect in the East, Reform and Opening Up, Moving Towards Rejuvenation, and Man's World. 150 "firsts" were displayed, including many aerospace elements.
For example, in November 1960, China's first short-range surface-to-surface missile DF-1 was successfully launched, breaking the "zero" record in the history of China's missile development. In June 1964, DF-2 missile independently designed and manufactured by China was successfully launched. In October 1982, China successfully launched its first submarine-launched solid-propellant strategic ballistic missile JL-1, becoming the fifth country in the world with the submerged launching capability of solid-propellant strategic missiles.
Cadres and workers at the exhibition said that the exhibition was inspiring, urging them to keep on carrying out the mission of "empowering the army with science and technology and serving the nation with aerospace technology" and to make contributions to realizing the Chinese dream of national rejuvenation.
A total of more than 330 people from CASIC's headquarters and some affiliates in Beijing visited the exhibition. (Written by Liu Yan Photo by Wang Sai)
