On May 10, Liu Shiquan, General Manager and Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of CASIC, went to Shanghai Jiao Tong University to visit key laboratories, check the progress of cooperation projects, and discuss and exchange views with the university on topics such as high-end talent training, building innovation platforms together, scientific and technological self-reliance and aerospace technology research. Ding Kuiling, Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee and Executive Vice President of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Mao Junfa, Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee and Vice President of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, heads of relevant departments at the headquarters of CASIC and relevant leaders of Shanghai Jiao Tong University attended the symposium.
Liu Shiquan visited the key laboratory of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and pointed out that the cooperation between CASIC and Shanghai Jiao Tong University goes back a long way, and on behalf of the Party Leadership Group of the CASIC, he thanked Shanghai Jiao Tong University for its outstanding contribution to the prosperous development of China's aerospace industry over the years. This exchange gave an in-depth understanding of the cutting-edge academic achievements of SJTU and its achievements made in key disciplines, which will become a solid foundation for the subsequent cooperation between the two sides. Liu Shiquan said that this year is the opening year of the "14th Five-Year Plan", and he hoped that both sides can make solid progress in the construction of national innovation platforms, apply for major national projects together, strengthen the commercialization and application of key core technology achievements, enhance cooperation in strategic, forward-looking and disruptive technologies, further enhance the training and exchange of talents, deepen the exchange between the two sides, and provide new momentum for innovation development to scale a new height in cooperation.
Ding Kui Ling welcomed Liu Shiquan and he hoped that both sides could, based on previous comprehensive strategic cooperation, jointly carry out major engineering project demonstration and high-end talent training to create a new situation of win-win cooperation by leveraging their advantages.
Mao Junfa pointed out that the "13th Five-Year Plan" had witnessed a series of high-quality cooperation between CASIC and SJTU, and he hoped to, with an aim to build China into a space power, deepen the cooperation in the research and development of aerospace new materials, focusing on the research of basic subjects, strengthen the communication and exchange of talents, build high-level scientific research platforms, enhance collaborative innovation to scale a new height in cooperation.
