CASIC Celebrated its 2nd Sports Event

On 17 September 2011, China Aerospace Science & Industry Corp (CASIC) celebrated its 2nd annual sports event in Beijing Shijingshan Stadium.
After the contesting teams marched on to the playground, CASIC President Xu Dazhe announced the beginning of this one-day sports event at 9:00 am. The opening ceremony was followed by eye-catching rocket model and spacecraft model performance, Kong Fu fan performance, drum performance and gymnastics performance.
All together, 24 groups of 600 contestants from CASIC HQ and subsidiaries participated in the event. The sports meeting consisted of 35 track events including Men's 100m and 400m race, Women's 100m and 400m race; and 15 field events including Men's high jump, Women's shot put and long jump.
The 2nd Academy, 3rd Academy and 061 Base scored the highest. The 1st Academy, 2nd Academy, 3rd Academy, 4th Academy, 6th Academy, 7th Academy, 9th Academy, 061 Base, 068 Base, Henan Subsidiary, Yunnan Subsidiary, Volinco, Xinguang Corp, Shenzhen Subsidiary, Automobile company, Aisino, aerospace communications, Aerospace Precision Products Corp, finance corp, assets corp, securities corp, training center, aerospace service center and CASIC HQ won Morality award. 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th academies, 061 Base and Training Center won Best Organization award.
CASIC Vice President Cao Jiaoguo and Assistant to President Xie Lianggui participated in Men's 4×100 relay race.
Fang Xiangming, during his speeches at the opening and closing ceremonies, noted that the sports event demonstrates CASIC morality and vitality; it shows to the world CASIC's ability and ambition to accomplish greater success.
