On April 26th, CASIC Space Engineering Development Co., Ltd., which was the most important commercial space project, was established in Wuhan, Hubei Province. More than 80 corporate representatives from relevant national ministries, military, local governments, aerospace companies, research institutes, universities, finance, and media field attended and witnessed important moments in the development of the company.

At the inaugural meeting, CASIC Space Engineering Development Co., Ltd. and People's Government of Wuhan Xinzhou District signed an investment framework agreement. After that, the two parties will jointly build the Wuhan National Aerospace Industry Base on the principles of integrity, friendship, mutual benefit and cooperation.

Hongyun Project
Hongyun Project is the most important commercial space project currently started by CASIC Space Engineering Development Co., Ltd.. The project first proposed the establishment of a low-altitude broadband Internet access system based on small satellites in China. The system is based on Internet access and features integrated communications, navigation and remote sensing, global coverage, and autonomous system control with its high-speed, low-latency and other features to provide global users with integrated communications, navigation enhancement, and remote sensing information integration services.
As the first subscriber link with Ka-band in China, the low-satellite broadband satellite network data has been successfully submitted to ITU, and the first technology verification satellite has also entered the sample development stage. It plans to launch and launch a comprehensive application demonstration by the end of 2018. The whole Hongyun Project is planned to be deployed and operated in the “fourteenth five-year plan”.
Fast-response small satellites and micro-nano satellites

New-type space transport vehicle
CASIC Space Engineering Development Co., Ltd. is developing a new type of space cargo transport vehicle with low cost and high load-bearing ratio based on technologies such as space inflation, flexible thermal protection, and composite materials. The first flight of this new vehicle is planned to be completed in 2019.
Based on this new vehicle, a new type of composite material cabin and new-type environmental control and health protection technologies are adopted to form serialized products, which provide support for tasks such as down-loading of space cargo, long-distance material delivery, recycling, and even the astronaut’s short-term residence. In mid-to-long term, CASIC Space Engineering Development Co., Ltd. will actively participate in the research and development of deep space exploration and manned moon exploration.
