At 12:13 on September 29, 2018, the Centispace-1 test satellite has been successfully launched into the predetermined orbit by KZ-1A solid launch vehicle at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. Liu Shiquan, a member of Party Committee and the Deputy General Manager of CASIC was present to direct the launch.
KZ-1A solid launch vehicle adopts series layout with three-stage solid power + final stage liquid boost; the whole length is about 20m, the take-off mass is about 30t, the maximum diameter is 1.4m, the carrying capacity on the sun-synchronous circular orbit is 200kg/700km, and the carrying capacity on the near-earth orbit is 300kg.
It is a general-purpose launch vehicle that mainly provides launch services for small 300kg-level low-orbit satellites, provided with a general international interface, featuring with high flight reliability, high orbit injection accuracy, short preparation period, less guarantee conditions and low launching cost.
At 12:11 on January 9, 2017, KZ-1A successfully launched “Jilin-1” smart video satellite 03 with two cube satellites (Xingyun-S01 and Kaidun-1) in the mode of “sending three satellites into space through one launch vehicle” at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, which indicates the first commercial launching was completed. This was the second commercial launching mission of KZ-1A.
Centispace-1-S1 launched this time was the first pilot satellite for technology test of the low-orbit navigation augmentation system being developed by Beijing Future Navigation Technology Co., Ltd., and researched and developed by the Institute of Micro-satellite Innovation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
In recent years, based on the development concept of “information exchange, resource sharing, capacity coordination, opening up and cooperation, as well as mutual benefit and win-win result”, CASIC integrated global superior resources, vigorously implemented the development plan for the commercial aerospace industry, actively promoted the implementation of the “Five Clouds and One Train” project (the key project of commercial aerospace) in an orderly manner, and has achieved a lot of phased results. In addition, CASIC has made great progress in fields such as launch services for commercial launch vehicles, commercial satellites development and spatial information applications. Kuaizhou launch vehicles represent one of the important achievements of CASIC in developing the commercial aerospace industry, and can meet the requirements of commercialization, high density and rapid launch of satellites.
